TRANSFORMING LIVES ONE STROKE AT A TIME
The Mastectomy Tattoo Project is a non-profit organization operating under section 503 of the Internal Revenue Code. Our mission is to empower women who have undergone mastectomies in their battle against breast cancer. It is a sobering statistic that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, with approximately 100,000 choosing or requiring a mastectomy each year. Our response to this challenge is to provide a vital service, namely, access to a comprehensive directory of skilled 3D areola tattoo artists whom we fund on behalf of these brave women. This personalized service allows them to reclaim their bodies and build self-confidence after their surgical procedures. Understanding that distance may pose an obstacle, we offer support for room and board, thus enabling them to travel to their chosen tattoo artist if required. At present, we are actively seeking corporate donors who empathize with our cause and wish to make a significant contribution toward the continuation and growth of our invaluable service.
The Need
Supporting Women on Their Journey
Breast cancer and mastectomies take an immense toll on women physically, emotionally, and mentally. The Mastectomy Tattoo Project recognizes the need for support during this challenging time. With 1 in 8 women facing a breast cancer diagnosis, it is crucial to provide resources that help survivors heal and regain their sense of self. Our organization understands that distance can be a barrier, which is why we also offer support for travel expenses, including room and board, so that women can reach their chosen tattoo artists, regardless of location.
Our Services
Supporting Women on Their Journey
The Mastectomy Tattoo Project endeavors to provide women with an array of choices, acknowledging the profound impact of losing one's nipple and areola. Empowering these individuals with a diverse selection is crucial; they deserve the opportunity to explore various options, just as one would peruse a boutique. By offering such a service, women gain the freedom to journey to any corner of the United States and reclaim a fragment of their physical identity that was once lost. The significance of this endeavor cannot be overstated—it holds tremendous meaning for women and remains an indispensable resource, often unbeknownst to many who could benefit from these alternatives.
